The paper presents a case of a young man with a hip gunshot injury. In spite of lack of important nervous and vessels structures damage, short distance between a gun barrel and skin as well as long intramuscular bullit track, both could be responsible for infection and compartment syndrom development. Characteristic for some gunshot injuries could be a wide disproportion between not extensive external damage and vast internal tissue devastation. Therefore diagnostic and therapeutic algorithm should include standard examination complemented, if necessary, of additional procedures.
