Application of allogenic massive osteo-cartilaginous grafts in the therapy of deep defects of articular surfaces

Deep defects of articular surfaces pose serious therapeutic problems in young patients. One of the treatment methods is the application of an osteo-cartilaginous fragment from the articular surface of an organ donor for filling the defect. The paper presents problems related to image diagnosis and indications for treating the defects with the application of allogenic grafts. It also discusses methods of graft preparation, indications and contraindications for the operation as well as operation technique.
